HOLIDAYS IN GREECE is a performative installation that will take place in May 2012 in Berlin. HOLIDAYS IN GREECE´s starting point is the wish to understand what we cannot so far understand. HOLIDAYS IN GREECE's intention is to translate the current crisis situation into a different experience of understanding, share and knowledge.

Instant Local Discursive Picnic Currency by UNWETTER: You/we are invited – Everybody is both guest and host at the same time – bring/take ideas, drinks/food, blankets - bring assignments / services – be there to share and exchange assignments / services, listen and talk.

You may take as many local instant bank notes as you gave away.
The filled out "instant bank notes" are the currency.
You are supposed to declare whatever assignment you commit yourself to, to carry out for one hour:

1. If there are many different tasks that you could perform you can offer whatever you like. Even if you are able to perform one kind of task only, you can generate a lot of local currency, since you may fill out as many "instant bank notes" even with only one task as you are able to carry out.
2. You attach the bank notes to your dress as to the dress of the bride at a Turkish wedding.
3. Whoever likes, what the other has to offer takes the bank note away from them.
4. Underneath each banknote (form) is a carbon copy that remains with the person offering their services.
5. People look at each other's bank notes and take them away from each other.
6. Balance. At the end you can only keep as many bank notes, as have been taken from you. Therefore you have to give back bank notes that are not "covered".

THE SPACE/COLLECTIVE
Like Unwetter (German for stormy and turbulent weather) radical global
transformations reshuffle conventional knowledge systems and
hierarchies, opening new spaces to be explored.
UNWETTER's basic format is the Discursive Picnic that connects different contexts in an ongoing process of reciprocal exchange. The Discursive Picnic
is an improvised event, ready to be modified and changed. Time and
place are announced for the public to join. It works as a potluck,
where everybody is both guest and host at the same time. In the UNWETTER
thermos-box, "where ideas are kept cool", theory and practice fall
together. We find, collect, exchange, alter, pack up and move on.
Arriving at a site, we unpack and array within flexible elements,
blankets, picnic furniture also tents - when necessary. Our aim is to
open up a situation for both spontaneously and thoroughly elaborated
contributions, where visitors, guests, we ourselves or the public,
become actors, listeners, performers, hosts or audience, in ever
changing roles, departing into new directions by tours, associations,
